Summer begins

June 13 year after year is our lovely, little *i's* birthday. This year the best way to celebrate was with our longtime boons JAIL WEDDINGS. Despite being casually close to the band (*r* of BTM and *m* of JW were once collaborators) this is the first show the two bands have ever been able to pin down together. All went smoothly. There was a little press enough friends made it out to see us and everyone had a nice time. June 27 The Better Maker returned to the stage to savage the Hotel Utah with their sounds great and terrible. *B* of Little heart invited us to headline the bill, thank you. Love Axe of Oakland opened the night.

April shows

April 6 we performed our first ever acoustic set. Our friend *L* of the FRANKENART MART on Balboa and 6th street. Her shop is and interactive installation selling locally made crafts and art. April 24 we performed at VITUS in Oakland with Noctooa and Urstrega from Italy. Urstrega got things roaring with intricate droning acoustic instruments with a striped down jazz kit keeping time and matching intensity. We had a little trouble working around the wires and a piano, but other than the electric shocks from the microphones the set went as well as could be expected. The guitar solos were a little more improvised then usual that evening, which ended up working out well. Noctooa closed the night with their dark-wave inspired liturgical seance. *S* and *J* have been supportive this band throughout our friendship and we look forward to working with them again soon.

March 24 Redwood Bar Los Angeles

This was a show set up by our friends Jail Weddings, who later had to drop off the bill. We were scheduled to open, but so many bands kept falling off then jumping on we became fairly apprehensive about what was going to happen. It turned out to be stupendous - it could not have been any more fun. Black Sparrow Press opened the night with some heavy handed western rock. Followed by She Rides from the New England. We ended up going third and sounding sweeter than ever. Los Vigilantes from Puerto Rico jammed out some garage style Spanish madness. Clorox Girls made and epic end to a wonderful night. We don't have a flier from this show that accurately represents all the bands that played, but they were all great. Special thanks to *B* and crew for hosting this one.

Make Out Room San Francisco

Success,

This is the finest set we've played in San Francisco, in probably ever. The sound girl *d* was fantastic. We are especially thankful that our friend *m* did some live photography for us.

Notably the sound has changed now that *i* is using her new Yamaha CP35 and *r* has quit using pedals for live fx. It's a more natural mayhem, great and terrible being broadcast from the stage. And it's quite fine.

Eureka at the Little Red Lion

February 17, 2012: Lil'Red Lion

Eureka brings out the best in people. We have only ever experienced the most appreciative audiences in the Humboldt County area. This showcase was split with Nineteen-Eleven, from Arcata, CA.
Things got a bit technically glitchy with some delay misfires, but out lovely audience kept dancing and shouting, drinking. The redwood trees, the parties, the people. It was so much fun.

Archives: Summer 2011

Though I had said le morte,

it has probably been too long since I've posted here.

we have had some great times met a lot of new bands and underwent a line-up change with newly added John Lee on drums.

this has been one of our favorite summers of making music.
